Debbie Krakalovich (left) Recipient of the 1997 IBS Editors' Choice Award as Most Newsworthy Nail Artist. Here she is with NAILS editor Cyndy Drummey and her husband (far right).

Voted for by members of the U.S. and interantional beauty press, the IBS Editors' Choice Awards honor talented beauty professionals who epitomize "the most exciting people to watch." Says this year's winner, Canadian nail technician Debbie Krakalovich, "To receive the acknowledgment of magazine editors was quite an honor, especially because here in Canada we rely so heavily on trade magazines for education and guidance." Krakalovich, who received her award at an awards dinner in New York City on March 7, may be best known to NAILS readers as a double winner in our 1996 Salon of the Year contest.
