Located in Manhattan’s calmer counterpart, Brooklyn-based nail salon Local Honey has developed a loyal clientele filled with edgy artists and hip creatives since opening in 2015.

The mani bar is set up in a U-shape with bar stools on either side to create a more social environment.

The salon offers luxury pedicures using organic sugar scrubs made from local ingredients, such as charcoal, which is said to absorb impurities and restore the skin.

My nail tech Sonia Garcia (left) is an avid reader of NAILS Magazine. Her manicure was inspired by the new album from rock band, Arcade Fire.

In addition to nail services, Local Honey offers full body and facial waxing, as well as brow and lash tinting and perming.

The salon retails temporary tattoos, Smith & Cult lip gloss and polish, and its own homemade products, like Witch Tongue, a rosewater toner.

The salon is decorated with crystals, skulls, and candles, projecting a vibe that’s both feminine and witchy.

Local Honey is located in Brookyln's Bushwick neighborhood, which is well-known for its street art.
