Dr. Orville Stone, NAILS favorite Nail Doctor, passes away.

Fondly known by NAILS readers as “The Nail Doctor,” Dr. Orville Stone died on December 3, 1992, in a traffic accident. Dr. Stone initiated his monthly column in NAILS in July 1991 and immediately developed a large and loyal following. His column was one of the most widely read sections in the magazine, and reader for his straightforward, appealing style and his respect for the abilities of nail technicians to treat most nail disorders themselves.

In addition to publishing numerous papers on nail diseases, Dr. Stone spoke frequently at medical symposia and was an accomplished cartoonist. He had been practicing dermatology for 30 years and was formerly a professor at the University of California at Irvine.
