You’ll get no namby-pamby, perfume-scented, touchy-feely beauty care at The Men’s Room, a new Las Vegas-based salon where, as their slogan goes, “Men can be men.” You can get a quick Hand Tune Up (clip and buff) or a more leisurely Foot Overhaul (pedicure), and you can smoke a stinky cigar while you’re doing it.

The Men’s Room is the brainchild of Lisa Shriver-Brooks, owner of the popular Las Vegas salon Diva Studio, and her husband, Steven Brooks, who decided that men needed a place of their own. “Many as they do when they’re with other men,” says Lisa. “But the old fashioned barbershop concept doesn’t appeal to sophisticated men. So we decided to give the atmosphere of a private men’s club with all the full-service salon option of a large salon, including skin and nail care.” The facility has an industrial feel, with 18-foot ceiling, a cement floor, and lots of black steel and chrome. A pool table, dart board, and sports memorabilia decorated the reception area, which also contains a beverage bar and array of cigar humidors. “We’ve got a fax and phone for clients, as well as a personal valet to process jackets and shine shoes. You can even get your car detailed,” says Steven. And there’s no discrimination at this men’s club – female clients will not be turned away.
