Emily Matthews-Monroe, the owner of The Cut And Color Lounge in the Renaissance Hotel, Las Vegas created a beautiful space in a former storage unit in the hotel. “It’s been quite a journey getting here from Ohio, as a salon, spa and cosmetology school owner since 1984,” she says.

The Cut And Color Lounge was designed to accommodate clients as a full service salon with a focus on the bases of beauty, a great haircut and color. They offer hair care, skincare, nail care, massage, makeup, waxing and lash extensions. Located next door to the Las Vegas Convention Center, they see clients from all over the world and are open 7 days a week.

“The salon design was created with a lounge in mind and all of the colors are soft and soothing,” Matthews-Monroe explains. “The flooring is a wood in a soft grey and the walls, soft beige and blue. The lighting is canned lights to create light wash and drama.”

  • Barn doors were used to save space and add character.

  • The reception area is small and comfy with microfiber over-stuffed chairs and a sleek desk.

  • Styling stations are back to back to be another space saver.

  • The nail room is separate from the hair area to give more ambiance while relaxing our nail guest.

  • Our only treatment room is tucked in the nail area behind another barn door.
