Use Video as a Training Time-Saver

Like the rest of us, salon owner and business consultant Tammy Dennis could use a few more hours in her busy day. To save time on staff training, she’s started using video to record her instructions to new-hires. “By videotaping your trainings and passing the video on to new staff members, you can just do the training once — unless something changes in your procedures,” she says.
These videos can cover a range of topics, like sanitation, technical protocols, or customer service. “You might review how to clean a pedicure spa, how to do a new nail art technique, or the way you like the phone answered,” she says. “Just be sure to name the video file clearly when you save it to your computer so you can find it when you need it.”
