If you’ve ever purchased a product from VBP Worldwide, you might just get a visit from the company’s president, David Anthony. Anthony is a big believer in the personal touch, which means he makes daily visits to salons that purchase items from the company’s Beauty Pure, Vetro, or Sha Nail lines a top priority, stopping in at as many as five salons in a single day.
“I love to see the expression on the face of an owner or nail technician when I pop up and say hello,” says Anthony. “I grew up in the customer service business and even though this is on a worldwide scale, I still enjoy going to the end user, the nail salon. That’s where all the action is. It also gives me opportunity to see niche areas where I can help develop new, more effective, innovative products.”

Anthony recently paid a call on Polished Nail Bar Davie in Davie, Fla., with Vetro educator Michelle Soto in tow. “The owner, Lori Cuevas, was having difficulty with some Vetro products, so I brought Michelle down to give them a Vetro/Valentino demo day. She helped to troubleshoot and taught them how to work with the line.”
Anthony likes to customize the support he offers depending on a salon’s unique challenges. “It could be anything — product foundation, business questions, social media, or marketing,” he says. Anthony plans to up his already packed schedule in 2017. “Last year I dropped in at over 250 salons and I hope to double that.”
