In March 2012, Miss Professional Nail vice president Mike Vo installed the first executive board of the Vietnamese-American Nail Association (VANA), a non-profit organization designed to represent the interests of the professional nail industry. The Orange County, Calif.-based VANA is uniquely positioned to provide information and services in English and Vietnamese, ranging from product usage and health awareness to state board and regulatory compliance matters.

As president of VANA, Vo relies on his legal background to confront industry-specific challenges and develop creative solutions. Through his role as vice president of Miss Professional, he noticed the need for in-language information and material, and a communication channel between government and the nail industry. This awareness led to the development of VANA, which has been well-received by the community.
