While doing a natural nail manicure, why do I sometimes find splotchy white patches on the natural nails when I remove clients’ polish? I use non-acetone remover.
What is the secret to that high-gloss shine I see on some acrylics? Are they using a special top coat? Or can you just buff the acrylic and not put anything else on?
I’m having a huge problem with the yellowing ofmy clients’ nails. Because I work in a spa atmosphere, I have no choice but to use odorless acrylics. I have tried a few different methods, including using a gel overlay (which sometimes peels right off), however I end up with the same results: yellowed nails. Sometimes they are yellow even before the client leaves the salon. The other problem with odorless acrylics is that they never seem to set. When I file them the acrylic just clumps off.
Can you offer any advice on how to keep my pink-and-white sculpts from turning out too thick?
With so many different electric file bits, please tell me which ones are really needed to file off acrylic or gel for prep, and which ones go around the cuticle area, file off excess acrylic, and then smooth the acrylic over the nails. (I also need to know sizes).
