> With its rigorous quality standards, Marilyn Monroe spas require that all their nail techs go through an in-depth two-week education program that covers sanitation and safety practices, product knowledge, and protocol for the spa’s entire menu. Following this training, the technicians perform multiple “test services” to ensure they are delivering the very best service and guest experience possible.
> Large screen TVs lining the walls project iconic images of Marilyn Monroe and feature quotes and trivia about her life (she played the guitar and once lived on Catalina Island). Guests take their selected color of Marilyn Monroe signature nail polish home with them, as well as buffers and any non-disposable implements. They can also shop for a matching red Marilyn Monroe signature lipstick and other cosmetics and skincare, and enjoy waxing and professional makeup services.
> The company’s goal is to set new standards for service, environment, cleanliness, product quality, and overall value, bringing affordable luxury to the spa industry. I enjoyed an Artistic Gel-Polish Manicure ($35), and associate Kim Pham had an Express Pedicure ($27). French-style polish is an additional $12, while nail art is $3 per nail. My nail tech, Rachel Craine, did a fantastic job on my gel-polish manicure, which lasted more than two weeks without chipping — unheard of for me!
> Marilyn Monroe Spas are open seven days a week. Walk-ins are accepted, but appointments can also be made online.
