How many uniforms do I need to buy?

September 22, 2011

Do most salons that have their employees purchase matching uniforms have each employee buy just one uniform, or do they buy multiple ones? Most of my techs work in the salon five days in a row.

Answer

Most salons purchase at least three sets of uniforms per full-time employee or if they wear them five days a week. This requires less laundering, which allows for longer wear and a crisper, more professional-looking uniform.  — Agnes Dalisay is founder and owner of Chi Couture Uniforms (www.mychi.ca).

How Do I Learn Nail Art If No One Is Available to Teach Me?

I am an apprentice in a natural nail salon. Sometimes I get requests for nail art. I would love to learn how to do different nail designs, but I am a beginner. I live in Virginia and there are never nail seminars or lectures or even hands-on classes here. Do you have any suggestions on learning nail art designs when there is no one in my area to teach it? Watching videos is good but sometimes you just need hands-on.
