Why is it that most nail technicians and the manufacturers at the shows wear black?

April 01, 2008

Why is it that most nail technicians and the manufacturers at the shows wear black? I think it’s a dumb color for us considering all of the nail dust we have all over us.

Answer

Black is the safe “in” color, but there is a much wider palette to choose from today. I recommend charcoal gray as a better alternative, because the color masks dust while offering a sophisticated color option. It’s also a bit less severe, and is more forgiving against the skin. Black is still a chic option for the nail tech, providing that the fabrication resists dust and particles.
