Salon owner Tammy Dennis advises nail techs to create an awesome first impression by providing new clients with a formal welcome packet. “Send every client home with a packet of information about yourself and your salon to make her feel special — she’ll feel that you are special, too,” says Dennis, the owner of Infinity Luxury Salon in Bingen, Wash. Dennis likes to use black pocket folders with her logo on the front to assemble a number of promotional items:

> A welcome letter stating how honored the salon is to care for the new client. The letter also includes the salon’s mission statement, guarantee, service menu, and details of its referral and rebook reward programs.
