At Mars The Salon in West Hollywood, Calif., clients are lavished with care. Each guest is escorted to a private suite complete with a lounge chair, flat screen television, and top-of-the-line headphones. Once made comfortable, they are tended to by two technicians to ensure unparalleled care.

“There are always two technicians working on a client at one time, even if they are just getting a manicure,” says Hiroko Fujikawa, owner of Mars The Salon. “One will do one hand and another will do another. This allows for optimal service in a timely fashion. The technicians enjoy working together on one client and making the most out of her experience. Every staff member has had extensive training so they are all on the same page.”

And what about nail art — doesn’t that require a single tech so the design is consistent? “The technicians are so highly trained they have perfected the art of working together and are able to emulate the nail art that the other creates,” she says.
