Hood Innovations has developed the Protective Hood, to help control dust and eliminate the fumes from artificial nail products and glue, which can cause adverse health effects.

The Protective Hood is easy to see through, with a replaceable face shield to keep vision clear. The sculptured design allows for close-up work, leaving ample room for tools during application of artificial nail products, so manicurists can continue using the techniques and quality products they are accustomed to.

According to Hood Innovations, there is a reduced concern for exposure to products during pregnancy and safety from flying artificial nail chips. The Protective Hood provides a possible solution for manicurists unable to wear contact lenses due to dust and fumes.

The hood is easy to transport and can adapt to other filtration systems and tables. It is accompanied by a filtration system that has been tested by a qualified industrial hygienist and currently has an air exchange rate of 90 cfm and a velocity of 107 fpm. The filtration system has a carbon filter that purifies the air and an additional filter that removes particles as small as 0.3 microns.
