On April 24, 2009 NAILS Magazine was honored with a record five Maggie Awards from the Western Publications Association. From hundreds of entries, NAILS was named Best Overall Trade Publication, a first in our 26-year history.

Known as the most prestigious publishing awards in the western United States, the Maggie Awards honor excellence in editorial, design, and promotion of both print and electronic magazines for trade and consumer magazines published west of the Mississippi River.

First-time finalist, associate editor Tim Crowley won an award for Best How-to Article.

In addition to Best Overall Trade Publication, NAILS also was awarded Best Beauty and Fashion/Trade, Most Improved/Trade (for our 2008 redesign), Best How-to Article/Trade (for “Just Like You Picture It” by Tim Crowley in the May 2008 issue), and Best Table of Contents/Trade and Consumer. We are thrilled with all of our awards and we’re proud to say that NAILS Magazine now boasts an astounding 22 Maggies. The passion and commitment the NAILS team has for the nail industry and putting out the best possible magazine is incomparable.

Art director Danielle Parisi and editor Hannah Lee happily accepted the award for Best Beauty and Fashion trade magazine.
