After nearly a year in the works, the NAILS Magazine team completed an overhaul of the NAILS Magazine website, adding new sections, functions, and greatly expanding popular areas. Take a look around the site and see for yourself all the new stuff we've added to make the site easier to use, and more fun to play in.

Register. In order to take full advantage of all the special features, you need to register. It doesn't cost anything and we don't need much information. Registration allows you to use our "Read It Later" function, to post your art in our Nail Art Gallery, to comment on blogs, and to post classes.

Expanded, Yet Simplified, Navigation. Sometimes you want to browse the site casually, but oftentimes you're looking for something specific. We organized all our material into sections and subsections.

BUSINESS includes business management, customer service, money matters, profiles of nail techs and salons, marketing/promotions, and retailing.

TECHNIQUE includes product- and technique-specific sections like gels, acrylics, natural nails, feet, e-files, add-on services, and signature services (this is the area that includes all the recipes for custom services).

HEALTH contains our entire backlog of articles on nail diseases and disorders, working healthy, keeping clients healthy, the "science" of nails, how products are made, sanitation, legislation, and The Conscious Salon (for salons intent on "going green").

STYLE contains the nail art channel, articles on polish and salon design, trends, nails and fashion, and Hot Off the Presses, where we compile news about nails from the consumer beauty press.

We've organized material by type of article as well: If you want to read through our questions and answers, they're all in one place, here. Or, if you're specifically looking for Demos and How-tos, go here.

One of the features we're excited about is The Encyclopedia. We're compiling this reference section so you can look up information about the industry in a single, comprehensive area. It contains definitions, photos of common and uncommon nail conditions, histories of nail care companies and personalities, and you can submit additional material on any topic you know about.

Read It Later. You know how you dog-ear a page in a magazine when you want to remember to come back to it? That's what this is. If you're a registerd user, you have access to this function. All you do is click "read later" and the article will be flagged on your My Page for you to read later when you have time. This is a great way to keep up.

Blogs. Who understands the daily pressures of doing nails better than another nail technician? We've got 9 amazing nail professionals blogging, each with a distinct perspective. We encourage you to check them all out, but do NOT miss Maggie Franklin, whose "Rants & Raves" blog is the talk of the industry, with her no-holds-barred take on the nail biz, and Holly Schippers' Fingernail Fixer blog, where she shows you everything from cuticle ultra-care to how to create a portfolio for yourself.

If you're doing research, or just feeling nostalgic, go browse through "vintage" editions of NAILS. You might laugh at the covers and you might alsso see that there are still some challenges that the industry faced way back when that we still deal with. You'll also see just how far this wonderful industry has come.

All in all, we have 1659 feature articles on our site, 136 photo galleries, 64,065 photos of nail art from our readers, 458 Q&A stories, 630 how-tos, and 28 years' worth of nail industry specific content. So, take your time and keep coming back because we add new stuff every single day.

If you have any questions or want to make some suggestions on our site, write to us directly. We are all ears.
