At MWnails, a London-based nail bar with two locations, the clients are passengers, the techs are the cabin crew, and the salon’s interior is called the flight deck. It all makes sense when you learn that the salons are fitted out with genuine American Airlines Boeing 737 plane interiors complete with emergency exits and three distinct zones: check-in, arrivals, and departures. First-class Air France seats line the pedicure zone.

As you might expect, the service names are in keeping with the theme: 1970s jet-set glamour. In all there are more than 30 nail treatments and extras with prices ranging from £12 ($19) for the express Shanghai Shape to £101 ($163) for the luxuriously decadent Mile High. Request the Two Weeks to Tahiti and you’ll get a long-lasting Shellac manicure, while the Fiji Full Set gets you gorgeous acrylic nails.
