When looking for a mini vacation, residents of Omaha, Neb., turn to Chill Body Day Spa for all-natural luxury services, from Vichy showers to perfected pedicures.
If Chill Body Day Spa’s owner Kelly Foral could describe the all-natural salon’s environment in one word it would be (perhaps not surprisingly) “chill.”

“To us, Chill represents chilling out, hopefully by the beach,” says Foral, who is also a licensed tech.
“We wanted the feel to have an overall calming effect, but still be bright and inviting and fun.”
While the salon’s Omaha, Neb., neighborhood features trendy boutiques and high-end housing, the Midwest climate doesn’t elicit a tropical vacation vibe.
Foral hopes the salon’s ocean blue walls and white furniture, complemented by accents of gold and black, can provide clients with a quick, convenient escape.
Foral hosts monthly theme nights that center around an elevated service menu, complemented by appetizers and drinks.
Pedicure Pride

Each signature pedicure service includes a handmade sugar scrub, bath bomb, and massage using warm wax from eco-friendly soy body butter candles. Since the salon moved and expanded last February, it has a party room where Foral has decided to step up their pedicure game with a monthly theme night.
The events begin with social time, drinks, and appetizers, followed by a unique pedicure. For example, the theme this past March was Chocolate Decadence. Guests ate fruits, crackers, and other snacks dipped into a fountain of melted chocolate as they sipped champagne and chatted with friends before indulging in a luxury pedicure service featuring products with chocolate and dessert fragrances.
The polish area features brands like Smith & Cult, Essie, IBX, and more.
On the basic menu, Chill offers natural nail manicures, facials, chemical peels, hair removal, eyelash extensions, and Vichy showers, a spa treatment in a drainable room where jets release water onto patrons as they receive a massage. Foral says this service has become more popular over the past year among their loyal clientele of successful businesswomen and busy stay-at-home moms.
The salon also sees quite a few men who usually opt for a service off the “Mister Menu,” which features Makes Scents’ Burly line, which uses coconut oil, cocoa butter, and other ingredients intended to ease muscle aches and pains.
Owner Kelly Foral worked as a manager and manicurist before purchasing Chill in October 2016.
Encouraging Growth and Team Bonding

Foral hopes everyone feels welcome in the space, but especially the team that spends their days working at Chill — all licensed cosmetologists, estheticians, or nail techs. She encourages measurable growth, and sets goals for the staff, along with corresponding rewards. The team has taken bonding trips to places like Oceans of Fun, a waterpark in nearby Kansas City.
Chill is located in an upscale neighborhood full of trendy shops and high-end housing.
“I feel so humbled and blessed to have the staff that I do,” she says. “They are all such talented and kind individuals, most of whom have been with Chill for a very long time.”
Foral, who worked as a manager and sometime manicurist at Chill before purchasing it in 2016, is continuing the salon’s initial pledge to focus on sanitation and all-natural services. She hopes the recent expansion will allow the team to continue focusing on the details that allow them to stand out, and brainstorm more special celebrations (like theme nights) to bring in additional income, which can then be spent on team outings or invested back into the salon.
“Moving into our new space was such a fun whirlwind of an experience,” she says. “I couldn’t have done it without the staff’s support and thank them all tremendously for their countless hours spent working on the new space.”
