Challenge 3 sponsored by Entity asked our Top 10 to first form the ultimate pink-and-whites, then glam them up to make a haute couture masterpiece. Contestants then had to upload step-by-step tutorials for both looks to Nail Art Gallery.
This week’s guest judge was Yuliya Normand, Entity Global Artist. Permanent judges include CND’s Jan Arnold, NAILS NTNA season 2 winner Lavette Cephus, NAILS editor Erika Kotite, NAILS senior editor Beth Livesay, and the rest of the team at NAILS Magazine.
The third challenge of NAILS’ Next Top Nail Artist season 3 is sponsored by Entity. With Fashion Week still in the air, Entity’s challenge marries the classic with the avant garde. Focusing on Entity’s core acrylic line, we asked contestants to create the ultimate sculpted pink-and-white look on a single hand. They then had to take it one step further and embellish the nails any way they chose. We wanted to see a pink-and-white look turn into an haute couture masterpiece.
To show off the results, we asked our contestants to post step-by-step photos of their creations to Nail Art Gallery. We’ve also posted all of the entries on the Week 3 Challenge page.
Challenge 2 sponsored by Akzentz challenged our players to recreate a favorite board game on a set of 10 nail tips. They also had to show us their strategy by uploading a tutorial to Nail Art Gallery.
This week’s guest judge was Gina Silvestro, Akzentz Professional International Certified Educator. Permanent judges include CND’s Jan Arnold, NAILS NTNA season 2 winner Lavette Cephus, NAILS editor Erika Kotite, NAILS senior editor Beth Livesay, and the rest of the team at NAILS Magazine.
The second challenge of NAILS’ Next Top Nail Artist season 3 is sponsored by Akzentz. In 2014, Akzentz launched its specially formulated gel-art collection called Gel Play. Its rich pigmentation and wide variety of colors (including glitters) make Gel Play super fun to play with; that’s why this challenge is about games. We asked our contestants to recreate their favorite board game on a set of 10 nail tips.
To show off the results, we asked our contestants to post step-by-step photos of their creations to Nail Art Gallery. We’ve also posted all of the entries on the Week 2 Challenge page.
Challenge 1 sponsored by Dashing Diva asked our contestants to select a favorite diva and create the perfect set of nails custom designed just for them. They also had to make a video diary and a Pinterest board charting their inspiration.
The first challenge of NAILS’ Next Top Nail Artist season 3 is sponsored by Dashing Diva. In the spirit of Dashing Diva, we wanted our contestants to select a favorite diva and create the perfect set of nails custom designed just for them. The completed set must be done on two hands and must reflect the diva’s personality and what she or he is known for. We’ve posted all of the entries on the Week 1 Challenge page.
After toughing out two intense pre-challenges, our Top 12 celebrated making the cut by creating commemorative nail art. There were no rules for these nails, as we wanted the competitors to have free rein describing what it means to make it to the finals.
After judging what was the most grueling pre-competition to date, NAILS and head sponsor CND have narrowed it down to 12 competitors, who will compete for the title of NAILS Next Top Nail Artist season 3 beginning in August. Please join us in congratulating the following artists who successfully hand painted their interpretation of a NAILS cover and sculpted a personal vision based on their own three-word tagline to earn their way to the top:
