Week 1: So Much Fun!

Cosmetology school is so fun! Tuesday was my first day of school, and I had orientation. I went into a room with the other students and learned more about the rules and guidelines of the school and how we should behave.

Week 9: My Mock State Board Adventure

The moment we’d all been waiting for was about to arrive: The Mock State Board Exam. We were extra busy this week preparing for it by finishing up the book, notecards, workbook homework, review questions, and tests. I am so happy that I no longer have to do those dreadful notecards ever again!

Week 23: Practicing Nail Art

Before I started this journey to becoming a licensed nail technician I was always fascinated with nail art. There are some amazing nail technicians in this industry doing some creative things with nails as their canvas. I consider myself a creative person, and this week I was put to the test.

Week 22: So Tired!

Exhaustion is the name of the game. I can only imagine how it is going to be as I progress in the industry as a professional. But at the end of the day, at least it will be my choice how I do it and not someone else’s.

Week 21: Gel Enhancements

This week is so exciting for me because I have fallen madly in love with gel enhancements. I had the opportunity to practice with builder gel and it was such a great experience for me. I really had fun with it. My instructor said she believes I've found my niche!

Week 20: Following My Vision

I sat this week and really reflected on the fact that soon I will be done with school and I will be sitting before the state board to become licensed. I remember starting this program thinking that it would be the longest eight months of my life.
