Popular blogger Tina Alberino (“This Ugly Beauty Business” and “Nail Tech Reality Check”) has written the ultimate guide to navigating our industry. Written for prospective students, recent graduates, licensed pros, and curious consumers, “The Beauty Industry Survival Guide” is a sassy, straight-forward, 365-page guide that answers questions and paints a true picture of the salon and spa business. It covers everything from understanding salon etiquette and dealing with difficult personalities to managing finances, building a clientele, social networking/marketing, and finding a work/life balance.

“I decided to write this book because I’ve purchased many books marketed to industry professionals and have been disappointed by poorly written content and advice that’s generic, outdated, or impractical,” says Alberino. “My purpose is to elevate the salon industry by educating the people within it. We’re above those insulting stereotypes and labor abuses. We can do better than this and my book shows professionals how.”
