challenge3_Buddy

This week’s winner is Buddy. The judges loved your beautifully crafted nail mural of Nebraska that went from day to night. Many of our judges, including Gel II’s Rose Velez, commented on how you took us on a journey across your state and we really got a feel for Nebraska through your cohesive design. Your passion for your home state and your attention to detail really helped you clinch this week’s win!

Here are just a few more of the great comments you earned:

Gel IIs Rose: “You did an amazing job at this challenge with your use of color and attention to detail. I love that you used the nails as a compass to show directionality across your home state design. Great job Buddy!” (Gel II’s marketing coordinator Megan Eaton also commented, “Midwest represent! Overall favorite for detail accuracy and imagination. The flow is easy on the eyes.”)

NAILS’ managing editor Sree:  “I love the backdrop transition from day to sunset to night. Buddy was really able to pack a lot onto these 10 tips.”

NAILS’ assistant editor Brittni: “Fantastic! I love the transition from day to night and old to new. More than just a creative and cohesive design with artistic integrity, Buddy’s nails really tell a story.”

The nail tech who is packing up his paintbrushes this week is…Max Nguyen. Max, your signature tattoo/graffiti style of art and vibrant use of color wowed the judges. We appreciated you pushing your limits to venture beyond handpainted designs for our challenges. Unfortunately, before finding out he was in the bottom 3 Max withdrew from the competition so he’ll be packing up his paintbrushes. We wish him the best of luck in his future nail endeavors.

You can follow Max at the following social media outlets: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

Tune in later today to vote for the Week 4 challenge. Good luck to Buddy, Christian, Jane, Julie, Lauren, Lexi, Ryoko, Temeka, and Winnie, who will all continue in the competition.
