Week 8: Pretty in Polish

This week’s challenge is sponsored by Misa Cosmetics, who creates beautiful polish colors with fun and interesting names. We challenged our Top 5 to select one polish name from a provided list and create a set of nails that best exemplified the thought behind the name. What’s behind the name of a polish color? This week our Top 5 were tasked with bringing one of Misa Cosmetics’ polish names to life in the form of nail art. They had to select one of the names and use it for inspiration to create a design on all 10 fingers of an actual person (as opposed to nail tips). They were allowed to use polish, gel-polish, and additional art paints for a hand-painted design, but no acrylics, gels, or other 3-D embellishments were allowed. They also created step-by-step tutorials for their designs so you can see everything that went into their look.

Our judges will be looking over the entries and scoring our top designs and our least favorite designs. We also want to know what you have to say. Vote for your favorite artist to make sure they stay in the competition. (You can vote one time per contestant each week.)

Voting will be open until Wednesday, November 6 at noon PST. We’ll announce the results of Week #8’s challenge (the winner and who is eliminated) on Friday, November 8.
