ISSE Show Shines Through the Rain

The first big show of the year, the International Salon & Spa Expo (ISSE), kicked off in Long Beach, Calif., January 26-28, 2008. The show, hosted by the Professional Beauty Association (PBA), is the West Coast’s biggest show. More than 30,000 attendees visited booths from more than 465 exhibitors.

The National Cosmetology Association hosted Hairworld Chicago at America’s Beauty Show. In addition to the numerous hair competitions at the show, there were also some really inspiring nail competitions. I got on the competition floor for the Fantasy Nail Art competition and snapped these photos.

I had a great time at America’s Beauty Show (formerly the Chicago Midwest Beauty Show) earlier this month. For the first time, the show took place in McCormick Place, a gigantic convention center in the heart of Chicago (in previous years, it had been held in the suburb of Rosemont, Ill.)
