Winter Warming Manis and Pedis

Winter Warming Manis and Pedis

by Tim Crowley

As the chill of winter settles in, clients begin to look for ways to take quick retreats from the cold. By adding a heating element to your service, you can set yourself apart from other salons as a winter indulgence, and maybe even warm your clients up into paying a little extra.

Millie Haynam, owner of Natural Beauty Salon & Spa in Twinsburg, Ohio, incorporates Hot Stone massages into her winter manicure services to heat up her clients. Millie’s Hot Stones are from Keyano Aromatics. They are called “Rock-On” Massage Stones and they are purchased in a powder form that is mixed with warm water to form the heat-generating rocks. Making the rocks takes about five minutes and they generate heat for approximately 30 minutes after hardening.
