For the past 11 years, Body Therapy Center Day Spa in Redondo Beach, Calif., has devoted 800 of its 4,000 square feet to the practice of yoga. The reason? “People love it,” says owner Liz Viens, who has found a strong demand for the classes since the outset. “We have a lot of beginner-friendly classes and we get a lot of first-time students.”

Viens estimates that 15% to 20% of the yoga students also take advantage of the spa’s service offerings as well. “It’s not a big money-maker,” she admits, “but it’s a community service and it brings awareness to the spa.”
