Celebrity nail artist Eri Ishizu created the ultimate early-2000’s inspired French manicure for Ice Spice using iconic OPI shades, paying homage to past VMA’s performance by the Queen of Pop Britney Spears.

How To

1. Start by prepping the nails. 
2. Apply OPI GelColor Stay Classic Base Coat. 
   • For the nail lacquer version, use OPI Natural Nail Base Coat.
3. Once dry, apply two coats of OPI GelColor in “Put It In Neutral.”
   • For the nail lacquer version, use OPI Nail Lacquer in “Put It In Neutral.”
4. Create a white French tip using OPI GelColor in “Alpine Snow.”
   • For the nail lacquer version, use OPI Nail Lacquer in “Alpine Snow.”
5. Seal the look by applying OPI GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat.
   • For the nail lacquer version, use OPI Top Coat.

Demi Lovato

Singer Demi Lovato went back to their roots with a black nail look done by celebrity nail artist and OPI Global Ambassador Natalie Minerva. Initially known for their pop-punk style, Natalie used one of OPI’s most iconic shades “Black Onyx” with a stiletto nail shape. The look was inspired by Demi’s latex performance outfit.

“Demi is wearing a sleek latex look for her performance so we decided to pair it with a clean black stiletto nail using one of OPI’s popular shades Black Onyx for their VMA look,” said Minerva. “Inspired by their outfit, we wanted the nail look to have a similar feel and replicate the material. As we enter the spooky season, black is the new red.”

How To

1. Begin with a sharp medium length stiletto gel extension. (Skip this step when doing regular nail lacquer).
2. Apply OPI GelColor Stay Classic Base Coat. 
   • For the nail lacquer version, use OPI Natural Nail Base Coat or OPI Nature Botanical Strong Base Coat.
3. Apply two coats of OPI GelColor in “Black Onyx.”
   • For the nail lacquer version, use OPI Nail Lacquer in “Black Onyx” or OPI Nature Strong Natural Origin Nail Lacquer in “Onyx Skies.”
4. Finally, apply one coat of OPI GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat. 
   • For the nail lacquer version, use the OPI Top Coat or OPI Nature Strong Natural Origin Top Coat.

Sabrina Carpenter

Celebrity nail artist and OPI Global Ambassador Zola Ganzorigt, added a touch of cosmic elegance to Sabrina Carpenter’s red carpet look at the MTV VMAs. Using OPI’s new Big Zodiac Energy collection, she created a stunning holographic manicure that perfectly complimented her silver-studded gown.

“Considering Sabrina had two different looks for the night, we wanted to create a manicure that seamlessly complimented both her jewel-studded performance look and glamorous red carpet ensemble,” said Ganzorigt. “Pulling inspiration from her journey on tour, we opted for a pop of sparkle to capture the essence of her ‘Bejeweled Era.’”

2. Next, apply two coats of OPI GelColor in “I Cancer-tainly Shine” from the new OPI Big Zodiac Energy collection.
   • For nail lacquer version, use OPI Nail Lacquer in “I Cancer-tainly Shine.”
3. Apply one coat of OPI GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat, then wipe the nails with alcohol wipes. (Skip this step if using nail lacquer)
4. Rub in OPI Chrome Effects in “Mixed Metals.”
   • For nail lacquer version, opt for one light coat of OPI Nail Lacquer in “Angels Flight to Starry Nights.”
5. Lastly, apply one coat of OPI GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat.
   • For nail lacquer version, apply one coat of OPI Top Coat.

Madelyn Cline
