Aprés Nail, creator of Gel-X®, was spotted at the Grammy Awards being worn by actress Laverne Cox, who hosted E! Live from the Red Carpet. Cox’s manicure was created by celebrity nail artist Eri Ishizu (@eriishizu) using the Gel-X nail system from Aprés.
“Laverne Cox is wearing a red Comme de Garçons archive dress. We wanted the nails to match, and be creative and avant-garde!” says Ishizu on the inspiration for the nail look.

How to Create Red Foil French Tips
- Appy Neutrals Gel-X Emma Natural Almond Medium Tips
- After securing the Gel-X Tips, apply Base Coat X over the Gel-X Tips.
- Cure the Gel-X Tips in an LED Lamp by Aprés Nail.
- Pad and press red nail foil onto the nail tip to create a French tip. It doesn't have to be perfect.
- Apply Non-Wipe Glossy Top Gelcoat and cure in LED Lamp.
