There are several questions being asked about dip powder services with salon re-opening protocols. I’ve spoken with Sigourney Nuñez a member of the OPI Education Team to get some data. According to the Nevada State Board, dip nail services have a 51.4% risk of infection. Below are suggestions from OPI to reduce risk:

> Don't dip straight into the jar (this has always been OPI Powder Perfection protocol)

> Do use separate medicine cups (this has always been OPI Powder Perfection protocol)

> Don't store contaminated powder (this has always been OPI Powder Perfection protocol)

> Do discard unused powder (this has always been OPI Powder Perfection protocol)

> Don’t double dip (this has always been OPI Powder Perfection protocol)

> Do consider pouring over dipping (this is a new recommendation for the brand)

Below is pro tip video captured by OPI design team artist Galdina Jimenez. This method is helpful for lowering risk and reducing product waste IF pros will discard and not dip directly into the jar!
