New Survey Shows 33% of Women Have Been to a Spa

A poll by reveals what women really think of the spa experience.

According to a national survey commissioned by discount spa site and conducted by Harris Interactive, only 33% of women have ever been to a spa. Of the women who've indulged, 88% think spas are too expensive and 69% perceive them as primarily for the wealthy. Others feel guilty pampering themselves or feel unsure of what to expect at the spa.'s Mary Blackmon believes that education on the benefits and etiquette of spa treatments will increase their popularity. 

Here are some other notable stas, about both spa-going women and those who stay away.

Aside from the actual treatment, why do you go to a spa?
