One of the ten 2014 BCL|CND|Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship winners and NAILS Magazine student blogger, Quatisha Allen.

The BCL|CND|Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship program honoring actress and humanitarian Tippi Hedren is funded by professional nail care company Creative Nail Design (CND) and their partner donors. Hedren has served as an advocate of the professional nail care community for decades, and has helped thousands in find rewarding careers as nail care technicians. The administering body for the scholarships, Beauty Changes Lives (BCL), is a non-profit initiative of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools.

The 10 scholarship winners were selected in a formal application process that included submission of a digital video or essay and an inspiration board expressing their hopes and desires for careers in the professional nail care industry.

“The passion of these individuals came across vividly in their inspiration boards, essays, and videos, which connected their passion for nail care with their love of family, nature, travel, and art,” said Lynelle Lynch, president of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation.

“Whether an individual wants to build a business, work in the fashion industry, or unleash their artistic expression anew every day, the professional nail care industry offers many paths to success,” said Jan Arnold, CND Co-founder and Beauty Changes Lives Foundation board member.
