Profit Sharing Means Income Up Down Under

Salon owner Lynette Kirsten offers her technicians an opportunity to share in the success of her salon by sharing the profits.

Australian salon owner Lynette Kirsten offers her technicians an opportunity to share in the success of her salon by sharing the profits. Technicians earn a base salary of $347 (Australian), plus a percentage of all profits once they surpass a certain goal. For example, technicians who bill $900 a week earn 5.8% of their basic wage back in bonuses (that means an extra $20 a week for the technician). However, technicians who far exceed their target can earn up to 46% of the basic wage (an extra $160 a week by selling $1200 in services).
