Taming the Savage Client

Karol Singleton's client “Macho Man” Randy Savage appreciates the value of good grooming and finds getting a manicure relaxing.

It can only be good news for the nail industry when the most macho of men succumbs to the lure of a manicure. According to Karol Singleton, a nail technician at Centre Salon and Day Spa in Clearwater, Fla., her client “Macho Man” Randy Savage appreciates the value of good grooming and finds getting a manicure relaxing. The pro wrestler and winner of more than five championship titles looks mighty tough, but he’s actually one of the warmest, sweetest guys you can meet, says Singleton. “He doesn’t talk much about himself. He’s more interested in what I’m doing and why. If I use a particular product, he wants to know how it will help.” With other salon clients constantly dropping by her station, it’s sometimes hard to converse, she says. “Our clients go nuts and the women fall all over themselves.”
