Organic Peas and a Pedi

by NAILS Magazine | July 30, 2008 | Bookmark +

I bet you never thought you’d hear someone say, “I’m going to the grocery store to get a pedicure.” But now, folks in Dallas, Texas, are saying just that. The Whole Foods Market on Preston Road has opened The Spa by Whole Foods Market. Located on the second floor, the space includes seven treatment rooms (including a manicure/pedicure room), an outdoor veranda, its own retail space, and of course, all-natural products. For those of you unfamiliar with Whole Foods, it’s all about natural and organic products — foods, supplements, accessories. So it makes sense that The Spa would include only natural ingredients and products that haven’t been tested on animals in its services. Run by Whole Foods (not outsourced to another spa company), customers (clients) can opt for full-service treatments or express services, like a 15-minute manicure. So now we’ve got salons in airports, in hospitals, and in grocery stores. What’s next? Salons at the DMV? Wait, that’s not such a bad idea.
