Rocking the Impossible

I can't believe how often new clients come in and tell me that the last salon they went to told them they couldn't do nail art on top of rockstar nails.

I'm so confused as to why it is there are techs out there who insist they can't paint over rockstar nails. True enough, painting over gel nails can present some challenges depending on how you choose to do the nails. But it's certainly possible. And doing nail art over acrylic rockstar nails is every bit as easy as adding nail art to pink-and-whites.

So, do some techs just not want to do nail art? Is it too much work? Or do they genuinely not know how to add it to nails that don't get finished off with a regular topcoat?

Whatever the reasons, I've seen more than one shocked — and thrilled — client walk out of my salon with both glitter and nail art on their nails.

Yeah, it's harder to get it off at the next appointment, but so is the glitter. As long as I'm filing out the old color, I might as well file off the old nail art too. And I can't complain about the extra income that the nail art brings in and I love making clients happy.

So I keep rocking the "impossible" and making the less enthusiastic competition look bad.
