Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, co-founder and artistic director of OPI Products Inc., will be the honoree at the Delete Blood Cancer Gala. The gala is being held at Cipriani Wall Street on May 1, 2013 to honor those that have given back by working with Delete Blood Cancer DKMS, the world’s largest bone marrow donor center. Weiss-Fischmann will be given the award by Glenda Bailey, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar.

“I am so grateful for DKMS’s gracious acknowledgement of OPI’s efforts to help in spreading awareness,” says Weiss-Fischmann. “Blood cancer is a disease that has touched so many lives, and both OPI and Coty, Inc. have taken their roles in providing support for Delete Blood Cancer very seriously. It is so easy to make all the difference in the world — one quick cheek swab is all it takes.”

Coty has been involved since Delete Blood Cancer’s inception over 20 years ago, playing an instrumental role in recruiting bone marrow donors for patients with blood cancer. OPI recently launched the “OPI Loves DKMS” campaign, bringing widespread awareness to the fight against blood cancer.

Delete Blood Cancer DKMS was founded in Germany in 1991 by former Coty chairman Peter Harf, whose wife had been diagnosed with an acute form of blood cancer that claimed her life less than one year after receiving her diagnosis. Today, it is the largest bone marrow donor center in the world, continuing to offer support for those with blood cancer.
