In mid-March, The Wisconsin Department of Regulation & Licensing launched a campaign to educate salon professionals and consumers about nail and hair salon safety. “This initiative is a practical and effective way to help reduce the risk of mycrobacteria, staph, and other infections by keeping everyone informed of what they should expect in our barber and cosmetology establishments,” said secretary Celia Jackson. The initiative includes statewide public panel discussions and listening sessions on the subject, as well as stepping up routine inspections to ensure compliance.
