Lucky magazine's January 2012 issue shows readers how to give a successful self-adhesive nail wrap manicure. Nail wraps are patterned nail decals that stick to the nail on their own. However, there are products you can use to make the process smoother and the end results better.

1. Get your nails into good shape first. Clip, buff, file, and moisturize them.

Lucky recommends using Tweezerman's Harajuku Lovers Matchbox Itty Bitty files, and Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.

2. Clean nail beds with a whitening pen (or a bit of polish remover). Start with a base coat of clear polish; let dry completely.

Essie's White Bright Nail Pen does the job without bleach.

3. Press nail wraps onto each nail, smooth out wrinkles with fingers, and then file away excess wrap.

4. Finish with a clear top coat for shine.
