If I’m applying polish over gels, do I need to use clear sealer, then base coat?

A.

The sealer will make the nail non-porous, so you don’t need base coat to prevent discoloration of the finished nail. Since the finished gel surface does not produce oil, there should not be any issues with polish chipping.
