Before I started this journey to becoming a licensed nail technician I was always fascinated with nail art. There are some amazing nail technicians in this industry doing some creative things with nails as their canvas. I consider myself a creative person, and this week I was put to the test.
Exhaustion is the name of the game. I can only imagine how it is going to be as I progress in the industry as a professional. But at the end of the day, at least it will be my choice how I do it and not someone else’s.
This week is so exciting for me because I have fallen madly in love with gel enhancements. I had the opportunity to practice with builder gel and it was such a great experience for me. I really had fun with it. My instructor said she believes I've found my niche!
I sat this week and really reflected on the fact that soon I will be done with school and I will be sitting before the state board to become licensed. I remember starting this program thinking that it would be the longest eight months of my life.
Can I just say that life has truly been a whirlwind? Things are getting busier and busier by the moment and it's exciting and scary at the same time.
This week was both aggravating and exciting. It started out rocky because of changes at school. I welcome change but I was aggravated because of how often and how dramatic the changes have been. Throughout this experience I have sat back and rolled with the punches, but something about this week didn't sit well with me.
This week was Mother's Day weekend and we were booked solid. The ladies were rolling in to get their manicures and pedicures all day long.
There is nothing better than receiving confirmation that you are taking the right steps toward reaching your goals. So this week, I received a little recognition that may seem small to some but meant a lot to me.
It's official! I am on the clinic floor! I passed my test with a 95%, and I had my first client on Saturday for a pedicure.
