Julie Kandalec, editorial nail stylist, founder of global education program Masterclass Nail Academy and author of Nail Art Design Book, has opened her first nail art studio, Julie K Nail Artelier in Manhattan’s Financial District. This boutiqe nail space will offer one of a kind unique manicure services including high-end nail enhancements, gel polish, sculpting gel, acrylic, soft gel full coverage tips, enhancement removal and a variety of intricate and detailed levels of nail art.
The name Julie K Nail Artelier combines the French word, "atelier" which means workshop or studio, with nail art.
“The idea to open a private boutique nail studio blossomed out of the COVID-19 pandemic and its dire effect on the nail industry that had been nearly destroyed," Kandalec says. "While many people are still not comfortable walking into larger salons and house calls aren't an option for everyone either due to space, safety concerns, or are cost prohibitive, I decided to cater to the needs of those clients that are looking for a private, high-end experience, without the crowdedness of a large salon. Essentially, I wanted to create a cozy, living room feel to make the experience as comfortable as possible."
From Essie campaigns to backstage at New York Fashion Week, Julie Kandalec is the nail professional that editors, designers, and celebrities call to make their dream nails come to life. The founding creative director of Paintbox in New York City, Julie made chic and on-trend nail art accessible to a mainstream clientele and now shares her years of experience with salons, schools, spas, and hotels around the world as the founder of Masterclass Nail Academy.
Her clients include Mariah Carey, Camila Cabello, Emma Roberts, and Hailee Steinfeld. Her work has been featured in Allure, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Vogue, WWD, and on campaigns for CHANEL, Dior Beauty, YSL Beauty, Tiffany & Co., Glossier, Bobbi Brown, Urban Decay and Maybelline.
