You may be familiar with the Employee Retention Credit (ERC), but it's important to also be aware of the IRS warnings regarding ERC preparers.

The IRS has issued warnings about companies that charge a fee based on a percentage of the refund amount, make unsolicited calls or advertisements promoting an "easy application process," or require large upfront fees to claim the credit.

These are just a few examples of warning signs to watch out for.

On Monday, September 25,  at 11 a.m. PST/2 p.m. EST, SALON TODAY will be hosting a webinar with Tina Azarvand and Megan Sterner, experts from Strategic Tax Planning, that will cover a variety of topics, including the basics of ERC as applied specifically to spas, salons, and beauty schools. The webinar also will cover the recent IRS warnings, possible pitfalls of overclaiming ERC, and the importance of both second opinions and working with a licensed practitioner as you go to file for the ERC. You will also have a chance to hear from Jack Winn, founder/owner of Jack Winn Pro, and Carol Bakowicz, founder/owner of Great Lengths Hair Salon about their experiences navigating the ERC process as business owners in the industry.

Register today for this complimentary webinar, and you can choose to watch it live or watch it on demand at your convenience.
