The Nailscape is a nail news site founded by session manicurist Ashley Gregory that bridges the gap between swatch blogs and pro products. So when we heard her team would be on-location at an invite-only Christian Siriano Spring 2016 fashion show for Chalk Boutique in Evanston, Ill., we gave them full control of our Snapchat to take us behind the scenes.

The team, which included Gregroy, Diane Diaz, and Zsanea Hatcher offered fast and clean services. The trio performed 15 manicures and pedicures and each model wore a sheer nude shade of Morgan Taylor lacquer that complemented their skin tones. “Nude nails are a classic for a reason. A beautiful nude shade elongates the fingers, looks incredibly elegant, and will stand the test of time in wedding photos,” Gregory says. “Using color theory to custom-match a nude shade is a great way to add value to a bridal client’s service.”

Aside from the varying nude polishes, a backstage must have included a simple soak-off solution. “I always make sure to have Pro Tip Clips in my kit. I once ran into a situation where a model had a full set of acrylics that badly needed a fill onset of a natural beauty shoot. They 100% saved my life! I now plan for a model to come from another job with something needing to be removed, and Pro Tip Clips let me continue to work with the other models while soaking the gel-polish off of another. The models appreciated it too. Pro Tip Clips let them continue to use their phones, eat, and socialize while the clips are working. I can’t stress how many times Pro Tip Clips have helped me out of a potential backstage jam,” Gregory says.
