Designed to spur retail sales and introduce clients to new services, the Mother's Day promotion at D'Amertri's Aveda in Olde Town Arvada, Colo., begins with a vase of paper or silk flowers, each with a prize attached to the stem. "During the promotion, whenever a client purchases two or more retail products, she gets to pick a flower from the case, drawing a prize," explains owner Ame Metcalfe. Prizes range from discounts on services all the way to a grand prize of a year of free haircuts.
They get the word out with extensive signage inside the salon, as well with social media, email, and text blasts. "It's easy and guests love it," says Metcalfe.
