Inspired by the “geometric shapes, metallic Western boots, animal prints, and saturated colors” found in Jeremy Scott’s Spring/Summer 2020 show, Miss Pop for Essie created multiple graphic nail looks. “We’re leaning into the wild side of the ’80s!” she says.

The “earthy shades with a high-shine finish” were inspired by “life in the concrete jungle” and “trying to find nature somewhere amongst it,” says Remark.

“We were inspired by Ulla’s stunning color palette of mossy greens and terracottas, as well as her creative use of gradual flows of colors,” says Mabelyn Martin, Paintbox creative director. “Creating a partial outline of the nail with this curvy design gives the nails a sexy edge by exposing the natural nail while slightly framing it with a rich pop of color. Natural hand movements reveal both bare shine and an unexpected graphic detail.”

The Veronica Beard Spring/Summer 2020 collection references Valley of the Dolls and the glamour of the 1960s. Taking this into account, Rita Remark for Essie created a frosted, oval-shaped nail look imbued with femininity. “It’s a whisper of color, rather than a scream, which aids in the delicacy of it,” she said. “It’s a girly look that can be worn by anyone with confidence.”
