You’ve Got Nail … and Other Punny Salon Names

What are the puniest salon names in America?

In September, Atlas Obscura contributor Jess Zimmerman went in search of the “punniest” salon names in America and — for better or worse — he found them. Zimmerman spotted seven (H)Air Force Ones, eight variations on Best Little Hairhouse, and more than 30 places called Curl Up & Dye. Whether names like these make you giggle or groan, you’ve got to admit they grab your attention.

Here are a few names from the list:

A Breath of Fresh Hair

Anita Haircut

Be Hair Now

Combing Attractions

Do or Dye

Grateful Dreads

Hairway to Heaven

Hannah and Her Scissors

I’ll Cut You

Julius Scissor

Scissors of Oz

Shaving Grace Barbers

Sunny & Hair

The Hair After

The Twisted Scissor

Whoopti Do

As you can see, the list heavily favors hair establishments. If you know of any nail salons with punny names worth sharing, email [email protected] so we can feature them in a future issue.
