Bold & Beautiful

I have to admit that I became giddy when Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, executive VP and artistic director of OPI, told me that bright, bold colors are the “in” look for Spring. As a girl who alternates between bright pinks and bold reds on my toenails (and once even walked out of a Dashing Diva with bright blue nails), I was thrilled that the style I’ve always loved is now the height of fashion.

During the interview at ISSE, Suzi specifically mentioned Caribbean blue, Kelly green, pink (from pales to brights), and orange as being hot colors. On the subject of nail art, she said bold designs are what’s in. I found it especially interesting that Suzi, who travels to fashions shows all over the world, still finds that her “muse” is “the average woman walking on the street.” She says, “Everyone wears nail polish on their nails and toes” — she’s so right, even when it’s bright blue!

You can actually listen to the entire interview here; scroll down to “Industry Experts Talk About Important Issues.” Then, leave us a comment about whether you agree with Suzi’s predictions — are your clients asking for bold colors?
