The Lamp of My Dreams

You know you're thinking too hard about something when it starts invading your dreams. Or, at least, that's usually a good indication. But I had no idea I'd been obsessing about UV light bulbs!

Nevertheless, last night I dreamt that the BF — out of the goodness of his adorable, romantic little heart — presented me with a set of brand new UV light bulbs for my gel lamps.

The BF probably does not realize that this would, in fact, be a great gift for me. Not quite as wonderful as a bucket of rhinestones, but pretty close. Those darn bulbs are pricey!

However, in the dream, he bought me a bunch of 4-watt bulbs — the kind that the old Pro Finish lamps took back in the day. Short, straight, 4-watt bulbs.

So the whole dream pretty much centered on me being less than thankful for his gift while I tried to explain to him why they weren't the right bulbs. Meanwhile, in the dream, he was trying to convince me that the 4-watt bulbs were fine and that wattage didn't matter and that they would to fit in my lamps as he tried to force the bulbs into the lamps and I tried to grab the lamp before he broke it.

OK. So maybe I haven't been obsessing about lamps. Maybe the dream wasn't about light bulbs at all. Maybe it was about the BF. Or maybe it was just one of those random dreams that you can't help but laugh about the next day while you try to find an audience who will also appreciate the silliness of the idea of trying to prove to your significant other that those bulbs are not either the right ones for your lamp!
