Holiday parties are common this time of year. The Painted Nail’s party on Saturday, December 15 was certainly one to remember. I accompanied NAILS editor and associate publisher Hannah Lee to the event in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Guests enjoyed Zing Red Velvet cocktails, baked goods, Orly mini manicures, and Kiss nail strips. Gifting was in the air, as toys were donated to charity, raffles were entered, and goodie bags flew off the shelves. Goodies included more Kiss strips, an Orly mini polish, and nail files.

Salon owner and star of TV Guide’s “The Nail Files”, Katie Cazorla, was on hand to preview her new products coming to Shop NBC in February. Her new line is 12 shades that shimmer and glimmer. According to Katie, these colors go on like polish, emit no smell, nourish the nail, and cure like a gel in cute pink curing lamps. The new line of lamps will be able to plug into a USB port as well as an outlet, for women on the go.

After hearing about Katie’s line of new nail products we were more than ready to get our nails done. Hannah and I both decided to do accent nails. We picked a strip from the Kiss collection and had the rest of our fingers done in Orly minis. I chose Gown because it was sparkly and festive. The blue shade I wanted on the rest of my nails brought out some of the glitter flecks in the accent strip. Hannah’s nails are silver with the accent nail a navy blue and silver snowflake design, perfect for a week of holiday parties to attend.

On our way out we crossed paths with Anjelah Johnson (the actress and comedian you might remember for her nail salon-focused comedy bit), who was kind enough to stop for a photo op with Hannah. It was a fabulous party! Our warmest holiday wishes and thanks to Katie for hosting.
